The Hyundai Santro AMT variant has accounted for a whopping 30% of overall bookings which is indicative of strong demand for automatic variants of the car. 21% of customers have chosen the CNG variant as well. 49% of buyers have opted for the regular petrol-manual trim. Online bookings had started on the 10th of October, 2018 for the new Santro and the car launched on the 23rd of October. Till the 4th of November, 2018, bookings had outstripped 30, 000 units for the new Santro.
Mid-range trims are witnessing the highest chunk of demand from buyers although demand should also pick up for the top-end Asta variant after the initial rush goes down. The base trim (D-Lite) has accounted for 9% of total demand according to reports.
Hyundai’s prices for the new Santro are introductory and will be revised post the first 50, 000 bookings for the car. The variant wise prices are given below:
D-Lite- Rs. 3.89 lakhs
Magna MT- Rs. 4.57 lakhs
Era- 4.24 lakhs
Magna CNG- 5.23 lakhs
Magna AMT- 5.18 lakhs
Sportz AMT- 5.46 lakhs
Sportz MT- 4.99 lakhs
Sportz CNG- 5.45 lakhs
Asta- 5.45 lakhs
Hyundai has ramped up production volumes of the Santro in a bid to meet demand and waiting periods are already in place for the car at present.
